Founding Fathers’ Lounge

A Hub for Innovation and Community

Welcome to the Founding Fathers’ Lounge, a classically styled antique lounge that harkens back to the founding of our great nation. This unique space is more than just a gathering place, it is a modern-day forum for solving civil problems, generating new ideas, and building a like-minded community. Inspired by the meeting houses of old and Benjamin Franklin’s Junto, the space compels conversations that lead to the expansion of freedom.

A Space Steeped in Tradition

When this country was founded, our Founding Fathers often gathered in intimate settings like lounges and taverns to discuss and deliberate on the issues of their time. These small, collaborative environments were instrumental in shaping the course of American history. At the Founding Fathers’ Lounge, we honor this tradition by providing a similar space for modern thinkers and community builders to come together.

Historical Inspirations

Many of the most significant ideas and events in American history were conceived in settings just like the Founding Fathers’ Lounge. Here are a few notable examples:

  • The Declaration of Independence: The foundational document of the United States was penned in a Philadelphia Boarding House by Thomas Jefferson.
  • The Birthplace of the United States Marine Corps: On Nov. 10, 1775, an innkeeper (and former Quaker) named Samuel Nicholas was assigned by the Continental Congress to raise the first two battalions of Marines, so he did it at — where else? — Tun Tavern.
  • The Boston Tea Party: This pivotal act of protest against British taxation took place in Boston’s Faneuil Hall, the “Cradle of Liberty”, where Samuel Adams asked, “Is it the firm resolution of this body that the tea shall not only be sent back but that no duty shall be paid thereon?” And with a great shout, the men answered, “Yes.”
  • Fire Departments, Libraries, and More: Benjamin Franklin’s Junto Club met in his private study and served as a launching pad for many public projects. Out of the meetings came proposals for the creation of the first library, fire company, university of Pennsylvania, hospital, and militia.

A Modern-Day Think Tank

At the Founding Fathers’ Lounge, we provide an atmosphere that encourages deep thinking, lively debate, and the exchange of ideas. Our lounge is designed to be a comfortable and inspiring environment where visitors can:

  • Solve Civil Problems: Engage in discussions to address and find solutions to local and national issues.
  • Think Tank Ideas: Brainstorm and develop innovative ideas that can impact our communities and beyond.
  • Build Community: Connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for freedom, innovation, and civic engagement.
